Celebrating New Beginnings!

This New Year’s morning we celebrated new beginnings at Memorial Childbirth Center: a new mayor for South Bend, the first baby of the year, and the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative.  Just hours before being sworn in, Mayor-elect Pete Buttigieg stopped by Memorial Childbirth Center to help welcome the hospital’s New Year’s Baby.  Phil Newbold, CEO, was also on-hand and made a special announcement to kick-off Memorial’s journey to become a designated Baby-Friendly hospital.  Local media captured the event.

Blogtobabyfriendly also celebrates!  In our first week of existence, we have had several hundred “views” and a fast growing number of followers.  Thanks everyone for following our progress!  With the first Task Force meeting coming up this Wednesday, there will be many more updates and celebrations to come!  Happy New Year!
